About Weekly Envelope project
Purpose of the undertaking
- Teach people simple and efficient approaches to personal finance management and writing simple (but not simplistic) financial plans
- Help visitors/readers get out of debt and set and achieve reasonable financial goals
- Convince as many people to live debt-free as possible
Benefits of Weekly Envelope approach
- Simplicity. Most of the existing approaches to managing personal finance require paying a lot of attention to details. Indeed, we believe that details are important (don’t get us wrong), but the fundamentals (habits, basic financial literacy) are even more important. If you don’t have those - no book/software/advice is going to help you.
- Efficiency. Lots of people hate the “How much money have I spent on clothes/restaurants/booze this year” question so they quit managing their finance whenever they get a chance. Weekly Envelope approach actually doesn’t judge users for their spending - it just provides a clear picture of how much money can be spent without damaging the budget.
- Fun. Yes, fun. Most users spend less than a minute a day managing their finances. And the benefits (nice sum left at the end of the week, good mood, predictable [to an extent] financial future, less arguments about money) are totally worth it.
Who are we?
- We (Matt, Kim, Vasyl) are a group of people who were able to overcome their wasteful habits and got control over their credits cards and wallets back. Now we’re trying to help people learn to do the same.
